1967 Jensen Interceptor Mk.1

This rare Mk. 1 Jensen Interceptor (only around 1,000 made) was first registered in the UK in July 1967. We have no subsequent history until 1993, when it was exported to Finland. Its new, enthusiast owner treated it to a full professional restoration over a period of 4 years. Following restoration, the car was little used and stored in a heated garage. After the owner’s death, the car was purchased by a Jersey resident, who bought the car into the island, re-registering it in 2022.

The car’s engine was rebuilt with new components as part of the restoration activities, and the gearbox and rear axle were disassembled and restored. Brakes and steering system components were renewed. Electrical equipment was renovated. The Interceptor was fully re-finished in Jensen’s metallic burgundy colour. The interior - in excellent condition throughout - was re-trimmed, with the exception of the dashboard surfaces, in a light tan leather.

The car has received appropriate mechanical servicing and re-commissioning work following its long lay-up to return it to first class driving condition. The V8 engine runs nicely with plenty of power and torque. The auto gearbox shifts smoothly and precisely. Whilst an older restoration, it remains a very sound and smart early series Jensen Interceptor.
